Plugin Overview & Capabilities

AI-assisted organization based on the public repository snapshot. The content must be grounded in source evidence and does not replace compatibility or security verification.

source-grounded
dsh-github-connect adds seamless GitHub integration to DeepSeek Harness (DSH). It places a connection indicator in the composer toolbar supporting GitHub OAuth Device Flow and fine-grained PAT authorization without requiring external relay servers. Once connected, it provides a github_api tool with automatic system prompts so AI models can read and manage GitHub issues, pull requests, repositories, and actions.

Key Capabilities

  • Composer bottom-left UI button showing real-time connection status and interactive auth modal
  • Dual authorization modes via GitHub OAuth Device Flow (custom Client ID) or Personal Access Tokens (PAT)
  • Built-in github_api tool enabling AI models to invoke GitHub REST API endpoints
  • Cross-platform network management supporting environment proxies, Windows system proxies, and OS CA certificates
  • Secure local token storage saved directly in .github-auth.json with zero third-party relays

Useful For

  • Listing, creating, and triaging GitHub issues and PRs through natural language conversation
  • Allowing DeepSeek AI agents to inspect repositories, gists, and GitHub Actions
  • Connecting GitHub securely in enterprise or restricted network environments with custom TLS intercept proxies

Who It Fits

  • Developers utilizing DeepSeek Harness for code and repository management workflows
  • Users working behind corporate proxies needing CA-aware GitHub API access

Documented Limitations

  • OAuth Device Flow requires the user to create and supply their own GitHub OAuth App Client ID
  • Access tokens are stored unencrypted in the local filesystem file (.github-auth.json)
  • Host-side changes require restarting dsh web to take effect
