Key Capabilities
- Installs through the DeepSeek Harness plugin mechanism using the @rbelem/dsh-tui package.
- Provides a terminal interface for workspaces, sessions, chat history, tool activity, approvals, and queued items.
- Creates, renames, forks, archives, and navigates sessions.
- Streams gateway events and supports canceling or retrying turns.
- Can auto-start a detached dsh web gateway when the configured port is unavailable.
- Provides theme selection, English/Chinese UI locales, configurable key bindings, mouse interaction, and terminal text selection.
Useful For
- Use DeepSeek Harness from a terminal instead of its web UI.
- Manage existing gateway workspaces and sessions from a keyboard-driven TUI.
- Attach to a manually started dsh web gateway on a chosen port.
- Run a terminal client that starts the gateway automatically when needed.
Who It Fits
- DeepSeek Harness users who prefer terminal-based interaction.
- Developers managing sessions and agent runs from a shell environment.
- Users who need an alternate terminal surface for the dsh web gateway.
Documented Limitations
- Requires access to a dsh web gateway; it attaches to an existing gateway or attempts to start dsh web automatically.
- Submitting prompts requires a provider configured in the environment; without one, turns surface an error in the UI.
- Published prebuilt packages listed in the README target Linux x64/arm64 and macOS x64/arm64.
- Shift+Enter newline input requires a terminal supporting CSI-u or the kitty keyboard protocol; legacy terminals submit instead.
- Auto-started gateways continue running after the TUI exits until stopped with dsh-tui server stop.
